Delicious

To be frank, Delicious is one of the restaurant that we often visit on a weekly basis. Whether to have their dessert *as mention here*, to munching snacks over small chats with friends or even for a meal. Certainly not surprised if the people there will know our orders by heart. Hehehe.

Today, we came for dinner and catching up with friends. We divide and conquered their Asian cuisine as well as Western. First up would be their Chicken Rice. This would be our first time having it. When it first came, the first thing that came to mind was where's the chilli? Usually whenever we have Chicken Rice, we would always ask for extra Kicap (soy sauce) but in this case that would not be a problem.

{Delicious Spicy Steamed Chicken. RM 19.90}

It stated in the menu that it was spicy soy sauce. But from the looks of it, it need more spice! Hehehe. Little did we know that they actually blended in and incorporate it in the soy sauce. A healthy portion of chicken that came with the rice and soup. Another dish that we would recommend is from their Asian delicacies is the Green Curry with Rice.

Next would be the Carbonara.

{Spaghettini Carbonara, RM 23.90}

Needless to say that it is cheesy but the balance of the mushroom and bacon strips in it completes the meal. Don't worry, it is Halal of course. The downside of eating Carbonara is that mid way through the meal, you will start to get all cheesed out. Luckily the soy sauce was there to the rescue. It may sound a tat gross but it actually compliments the carbonara and added a unique taste to it. Not to mention it tasted super good that it got the job done to finish up the pasta.

There are plenty more items on the menu that we are truly fond of like their big ass salad (you should try their pomelo salad or to be safe, Caesar Salad), burgers, pies and the 3 cheese sandwich.

E Garden Recipe

On the way to staying healthy, it is hard to find a nice organic food shop that is reasonable until now. Located in SS2 Mall tucked away a cosy little organic restaurant, called E Garden Recipe. To most, healthy food equals to high in price and low on taste. Rest assure that this is not the case.

The menu was filled with food that is served with Brown Rice and uses Yoghurt instead of Santan for their curry dishes. Between the 8 of us, we had about 6 different dishes.

The first was Assam laksa followed by Curry laksa. The others had the mee soup, grilled salmon with rice and also grilled chicken. Last but not least would be their Lei Cha.

{Our HUGE bowl of Curry Laksa, RM 10.90}

{Lei Cha and its condiments, RM 13.90}

The portion are worth every single organic penny there is as they came in HUGE bowls (for the laksas). They also served freshly juiced fruits without added water or sugar of course. Wouldn't mind going back to try their other dishes.

Price Range: The meals and drinks will cost about RM5  to RM 25 (before the 10% govt tax)

The Tappers

Jaya One is the place my colleagues and I tend to go for lunch. A is because it is one of the nearest to the office (Amcorp is the nearest but the parking is such a hassle) and B there is plenty of choices to eat and lastly  C if we feel like it, Starbucks is just around the corner *wink*. So today, we decided to have lunch at Tappers Caffe.

The ambiance is so chilled out and the decor eventhough minimalistic, it is still gorg and an inspirational for my future wall of picture frames that I plan to do. It can be packed at peak hours but I must say service is still alright in terms of speed.

There were 4 of us that went out for lunch that day, so we all ended up choosing four different meals from their set lunch. Their set lunch comes with a drink of your choice between lime, lemon tea, Goo Leng Ping (aka sirap bandung) and honey mmon. The first of the four meals came.

 {Spaghetti Carbonara RM 12.90}

My colleague's feels that the sauce was a bit creamy and watery but taste wise, fits the bill of RM 12.90.

 {Chicken Parmigiano RM12.90}

This was my lunch. It is basically chicken chop with melted cheese on top of it. Delicious and well recommended. The only downfall was the size of the portion. I was still left a tat hungry after lunch.

 {Bangers and Mash RM 8.90}

{Chicken Chop RM 13.90}

All in all for the price that we paid, it was satisfactory however the size of the portion might vary from one person to another and also depending on the food that you are ordering. So far the biggest of the lots is the Chicken Chop as well as the Asian food for lunch sets.

Satay Station istana budaya branch

Nowadays, it is hard to find good quality malaysian food at a reasonable price. One of our local delicacy, the satay is served almost verywhere but it is usually tiny pieces of meat on a skewer. From the name of the stall says it all. Satay station has several outlets and the one we visited is near Istana Budaya.

The menu is simple either to order satay or mee Rebus. Of course we ended up with both to fill our taste buds. First up would be the Mee Rebus. A portion enough to leave space for a few sticks of satay. Although it may look unappealing, but beg the differ as it has just enough of everything to savour any taste buds. Mee Rebus originated from Johor has become everyone's favourite and a staple in any local restaurant menu.

The Mee Rebus consists of sliced up boiled egg, bean sprouts, fried shallots and of course yellow noodles. What makes or breaks the taste of the Mee Rebus is the gravy. A nice thick gravy is what makes it heavenly to be consumed by the masses. Next would be SATAY!

The helping of the satay here is how it should be. The key to a good satay skewer combination is meat-fat-meat. The meat is juicy and cooked to perfection whether it is lamb, beef or chicken. The peanut sauce accompanying the satay is thick and filled with chucks of peanuts which makes it even more appetizing to consumed. The sauce is so good that you can even eat it on its own. The only thing that would be a downfall for the satay is the lack of cucumber and rice. This is what you called truly an asian dish where many chef abroad can't really replicate.

Papa John's

One of the many gifts that we got from America is their fast food chains. And it is DE-LI-CIOUS! It is quite refreshing eating a different taste of pizza as compared to Dominos and Pizza Hut. The outlet that we went to was at the Tropicana City Mall. Hidden away at the edge of the mall but we are so glad to passed by and grab a taste of it.

The menu of the night would of course be pizza (DUH!) and a few more other things. First up would be their appetiser: the Cheese stick. Well don't expect it to look like a stick literally, I would personally say that is it a preparation of what is ahead. Basically their cheese stick is a miniature version of a cheese only pizza. What made it even more appealing is the fact that it came with a tomato and garlic sauce on the side. RM 6.90 is a steal for this miniature all cheese pizza

Next was something that none of the fast food pizza parlour has. I would like to present "THE POCKET PIZZA". I knew that was what I wanted to order the moment I went through the menu. A good choice that was. What I have noticed with Papa John's is their cheese factor. The pocket pizza is what a pizzeria would call a calzone.  This is their Chicken and Mushroom Pizza Pocket.

For RM 8.90, it is an ideal meal for one if you are not in the mood to share or eat a pizza. This too comes with a tomato sauce.

Last but not least, here comes the Papa John's pizza. Like Dominos, they too have the option as having half-half toppings of pizza. This is a great way to taste the variety of  toppings that they offer. The topping of choice for the night is: Super papa and  Pepperoni.

What we notice is the fact that at Papa John's, their pizza or any other food on the menu goes well with the tomato sauce and their special garlic sauce. A matter of fact, it even enhances the whole eating experience and leave you craving for more! Even though you are super full *wink*. Moderation is the word people. We shall meet again Papa John's to try out even more toppings that you have to offer.

Yippe Club

With the weather being super hot now a days, nothing beats a nice cold refreshing drink. A drink that both children, adults and grandparents will enjoy : Bubble tea. A little history about bubble tea (also known as pearl tea) was made famous by the Taiwanese folk dated way back to the 1980s - Wikipedia.  From its name "bubble tea", the original flavor is in fact anything that is tea based that have now evolves in other flavors like coffee and fruits as well as chocolates. We can't be the only one that evolves rite? Hehehe.

What makes everyone going crazy over bubble tea (besides the wide range of the flavors) is the black chewy balls that comes in it. Those chewy little buggers are actually tapioca or even sweet potato and they are addictive too.

You will go nuts just thinking of the flavors that they have in the menu. Once a flavor is chosen, they then prepare them and sealed it up in a cup. A huge straw is in order to enjoy the bubble tea so that you are able to enjoy the chewy balls with the juices or drinks. Ahhhhh the perfect drink and inexpensive one at that, in order for you to quench your thirst and that sudden craving for something chewy.

San Francisco Steak house

We decided to go to this restaurant due to its promotion on Milkadeal. We were instantly sold when we saw that the main course was between lamb rack, ribeye steak and ribs. We couldn't wait to find a date to have it. The outlet that we chose to have it was the nearest to us, Tropicana City Mall. So which the deal was you get their soup of the day, chose one between the 4 main courses, a pick between the 2 desserts and a soft drink.

Baguette with garlic butter,complimentary

Sup of the day Rm9.90

Even though the service ain't that great maybe due to the fact that we paid less than other, they still serve us with breads. The soup of the day which was Corn soup followed soon with our free flow of soft drinks. The three of us decided to divide and conquer the menu and had the 3 meaty-est main course so we could taste each one.

bbq apple ribs Rm49.90

The first was the half portion of the BBQ Apple ribs. We weren't too sure which of it had the apple, but we suspected it could be the dipping sauce. The sides for this dish came with coleslaw and fries. The coleslaw was ok but the fries was as good as the ones in McDonalds!

Grilled rib eye steak Rm52.90

The Rib eye steak looks very bare with just steamed veges. As we all know, looks can be deceiving and in this situation  it is very! The meat was nice and tender was cooked medium well. It was juicy enough that you can dip the fries or even use it as gravy with the veges. Downfall would be that it wasn't big of a portion as we that it was going to be.

Rack of lamb Rm47.90

The last main course that we picked out was the Lamb Rack. The 4 piece lamb came with steam veges and potatoes on the side. The perfect amount of everything except the dipping sauce wasn't enough to go around with the meat. But on the other hand, the lamb was good enough on its own.

Coit icecream tower Rm14.90

As mentioned earlier, you are able to choose between the dessert shown above or a scoop of Haagen Daz ice cream. If you were stuffed, then the way to go was the Haagen Daz. If not, their Coit Tower Cookie Sundae. The dessert is basically a huge cookies piled with probably 5 to 6 scoops of vanilla ice cream. That is not all, they then drizzle the whole thing with chocolate sauce and finish it off with strawberries. The perfect ending to a delicious meaty dinner.

Muse Italian Restaurant and Cocktail Bar

Written by Mrs Tummy

Lunch hour is always a tough one especially when you need to plan ahead where to eat. So what I usually do is start asking who wants to go for lunch and start thinking of places to go an hour before. The best place to go is usually Jaya One, since they have a variety of restaurants as well as Starbucks. We all wanted to eat at a new place but in the end we choose to eat here at Muse. What we all ended up picking is the lunch special. The lunch special consists of the soup of the day, a main course and soft drink. Total is RM 15 (before the 16% tax).

Soup of the Day: Pumpkin

First up was the soup of the day which is pumpkin soup. Knowing me, I would passed up such healthy food but the smell lured me in with the cheese. Lucky me that it tasted as though it was a potato and cheese soup.  The bowl was HUGE and some how it resembles an egg. Hehehe. Then came the selection of main courses that we pick so that we are able to taste everything.

Chicken Bolognese

Fetucinni Carbonara

For the main course, they had a selection of Asian as well as Western food. And we all took the Western, of course. Being a bonafide meat eater, I picked the grilled lamb chop. While some took pasta, chicken chop and also fish.

Grilled Lamb with potato salad and greens

Fish with greens and mashed potato

Due to this heavy lunch, it was a very unproductive Friday at work. Can't wait to come back and try the rest that is on their menu!

Pros
-Fast Service
-Easy Parking
-A healthy portion of food

Cons
-No dessert for the lunch set

SuChan Bakery

The homely Suchan Bakery has been in Sect 11 ever since we can remember and another thing we can remember is their tiramisu. Out of all the cake selections that they have, the hot cakes would be the scrumptious tiramisu. The layers of marscapone cheese and coffee in the sponge cake was just the right amount. The caramelized crushed almonds adds a crunch factor to the cake. In order to fulfilled your tummy with the tiramisu, a slice and a half would do it. HAHAHAHHA

When you have a tiramisu crave, well you just gotta have a slice ASAP at Suchan. So off we went to have our tiramisu cake and after going through the menu, we decided on the 'Unbelievable set'. You are able to choose 4 cakes of your choice (since there were 3 of us) and 2 teas either iced or hot for RM 45 (before tax). That's cheap since a slice of tiramisu is RM 10.90 per slice. The orders were 3 delicious tiramisu and a banofee cake to fill our tummy.

If ice cream sundaes is your thing, then this blog post is for you! Well Delicious is known for their GIGANTIC salads (delicious btw), yummy pastas as well as to die for three cheese grilled sandwich. They also have a set for just tea with a layer for just sandwiches, scones, truffles and one dessert of your choice.
Your eyes and tummy will go nuts at a whole page dedicated to desserts and also drinks. In our menu of choice is the Watermelon and Lychee blast. The mixture of watermelon and lychee are so balanced that you will want to try their other drinks. It comes with 3 lychees and not forgetting the blended lychee bits in it. Yumm!

Watermelon & Lychee blast
Now comes the STAR of the night! The chocolicious sundae is the ideal sundae. What is in it? Tons of vanilla ice cream with pavlova bits in it and also fresh strawberries. It is then garnished with sliced toasted almonds for the crunchy nut punch.

Chocolicious sundae
If that is now enough, they even have a range of tid bits that you can choose from. The portions of the shoestring fries and wedges are LARGE so be sure to share them!

Al-Andalus

As mention in earlier post about Middle Eastern food, Al-Rawsha, this is another restaurant that is equally as good or even better. Well Al-Rawsha has a better portion for sharing, Andalus has a great portion for singles.  The selection of food served here is a lot more in terms of choice wise as well as portion. Not forgetting the reasonable pricing.

Lamb Fillet Rm18

Grilled Chicken Drumsticks Rm18

They provide a basket full of Arabic bread which sort of looks like a pita bread. There are at least 4 breads in a plastic and it is FREE! The restaurant is a great place to hang out with friends (if you don't mind the noise) as well as a perfect place to watch football (a plus for the guys). They have 2 projector screens as well as televisions surrounding the restaurant. Shisha is sold here and at the price of RM 6, it is a bargain as the flavour of the tobacco doesn't runs dry fast. The grilled chicken thighs is a nice finger food to share with friends.

Lamb Kebab Rm20

Lamb Kebab with rice Rm24

Kebabs are essentials at any Middle Eastern restaurants. But don't count on eating veggies. The amount of greens put on each servings are merely enough for garnishing not so much eating. Hahaha you can actually count the amount of cucumber or carrots in each servings. Well a maximum of 2 slices that is. Also another must try is the non alcoholic malt drink and of course Mint Tea.

Ice Room

Late night cravings will be a bust if there isn't a place to go to, right?? So after eating a whole bunch, something sweet is just what you need to hit that spot to end a perfect day of eating. If ice shaves is what you crave than the Ice Room is the place to be.

Through the jam and rushing in order to get to the Ice Room before the last call was crucial! Between the 3 of us, we ordered 2 different ice shaves. The first one is the durian flavour and second is the strawberry flavoured. What is special about the shaves is that the flavours doesn't fade away as the flavour is in the ice. Some how through a 'magical' machine, they managed to intertwine the flavours within the ice. Amazing enough, the durian one smelled exactly like the real one too!!

There are a huge range to choose from depending to your taste buds. Aside from desserts, they also have food opinions if desserts ain't your thing. Can't wait to come back to try out their food! Not only that, they are also other desserts to choose from too.

Al Rawsha

When it comes to Arabic food, this would be one of the names that will come in mind. Al-Rawsha was actually one of the arab restaurants that had to moved from Jalan Damai to its current location at Kampung Pandan. The new place is HUGE and not forgetting the ample parking space which is FREE.

The restaurant is split into 2 levels. The upper level would be a perfect place to have parties or even wedding.  Walls are covered with cravings which is a staple to most arabic decor. Now to the food!

Lamb Maghdout Rm50
If you like sharing your food, we would suggest that you get the lamb Maghdut. Its HUGE serving on a large plate can feed up to 4 people generously. They also have half portion which equally filling for maybe 2 people? And if sharing isn't your cup of tea, then there are other foods to be eaten alone like their kebabs, sharwarma and sandwiches.
Lamb Kebab Rm20
Chicken Sandwich Rm10
Al-rawsha also does catering at home or even provides lamb (roast lamb) that varies from RM 800 - RM 1000. What is interesting is the fact that they even have a take out counter!! The services is super fast so if you come with a hungry tummy, it would be PERFECT. The guys at the parking lot even helps hold the traffic for you as the restaurant is by the main road.

Pros
-Ample parking space
-Variety of middle eastern cuisine
-24 hours
-Quick service

Cons
-The beverages seems quite expensive
-Small portion of food(except for the lamb maghdout,hehe)
-Humid dining space
-Foods are precooked!
